18 Years Later, 'Avatar: The Last Airbender's New Revival Is What The Franchise Needs | Review

Paramount’s Avatar: The Last Airbender lineup is growing with Avatar: Seven Havens, and the new spin-off is the revival the franchise so desperately needs. The original Nickelodeon show remains one of the best fantasy offerings of the 21st century, and it’s returned multiple times over the years to varying degrees of success. The Legend of Korra followed first from 2012 to 2014, telling the tale of the next Avatar. Meanwhile, Netflix’s live-action adaptation and Paramount’s Avatar Aang movie expanded the IP more recently. Unfortunately, none of these titles have fully recaptured the magic of the original. But the first six episodes of Avatar: Seven Havens offer hope the franchise can reach those heights again.
