8 Years Later, One of The Biggest Isekai of All Time Finally Lands on Netflix

Netflix is bringing some of the biggest anime titles to its library, including the older classics and recent hits. This also includes famous isekai series on Crunchyroll, including Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, which was finally licensed by the platform. However, Netflix doesn’t plan on stopping there since it’s finally streaming the first season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime worldwide. The information was confirmed by the official X handle of Netflix Anime, which means fans from all over the world can begin watching Rimuru’s journey on the platform.

So far, only the first season is available on the USA platform, but we can expect more updates in the next few months. The anime initially debuted in 2018 and remains one of the biggest franchises in recent years. It’s currently airing its fourth season as the protagonist’s journey keeps getting more intense.

The anime is based on an award-winning manga written by Fuse and illustrated by Taiki Kawakami, which debuted in 2015 and is still ongoing. The story begins with Satoru Mikami, an average 37-year-old corporate worker, finding himself at death’s door. As his life slips away, he hears a mysterious AI-like voice and awakens in the middle of a strange cave as a goop of slime.

Having been given a new shot at life, he acquires the skill to absorb anything and obtain its appearance and abilities. He befriended a beast, and in exchange for helping him, he is bestowed a new name, Rimuru Tempest. Hoping to avoid living the mundane life like before, he embarks on a grand quest that will change the fate of the world

Season 4 is the longest season of the anime to date with five full cours of episodes planned to air through the next couple of years. The Spring months brought the first arc to an end as Rimuru was able to escape from Maribel Rozzo’s plans. However, this is only the spark of something bigger to come in the next arc.

The latest season took a bit to get going into the thick of the action as Maribel Rozzo had been using her Greed-powered schemes to work in the shadows. While the first half of the season was more focused on his labyrinth, things got intense soon once Maribel made her move with the attempt to take control of Rimuru himself. Naturally, this didn’t work out, and Rimuru has only become stronger through the attempt.

The trailer for Season 4’s second part highlights the hero that Rimuru once absorbed in the past and teases a surprising descendant coming to fruition, so we’ll have to see how Rimuru navigates all of this moving forward. New episodes will be streaming on Crunchyroll starting July 3rd, so don’t forget to catch up now.
