As Will Ferrell fans rejoice in the prospect of another Talladega Nights or Step Brothers film, chatter has also been directed towards the comedic actor’s turn on the PGA tour in The Hawk. The Netflix series has also landed partnerships with SKIMS, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, and Genesis. Ads are being created for each brand featuring characters from the show starring Ferrell, Jimmy Tatro (who plays Lonnie’s pro golfer son Lance), and Luke Wilson (who plays Lonnie’s PGA rival Golden Fisk). Ferrell will also be doing a bus tour in character as Lonnie Hawkins that will include a “no-holds-barred press conference at the World Golf Hall of Fame in Pinehurst, North Carolina.” Netflix is taking its marketing to the next level for The Hawk, and it will be interesting to see the result of such an immersive campaign.
