Isekai series have been gaining more popularity in recent years, and among them, Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World stands out as one of the best in the industry. The series often stands out for its dark themes and unique plot, especially among Crunchyroll anime. The anime is based on an acclaimed light novel written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichiro Ootsuka, which has been ongoing since 2014 and is nowhere near its ending. 2026 is a crucial year for fans with the premiere of Season 4, where the story takes another dark turn. The anime went on a brief hiatus in June this year after releasing Episode 11 of the fourth season. The pop-up shop also shares a new visual featuring Subaru, Emilia, and Beatrice. The visual features them in different attire than what anime fans are used to seeing. It will be held on September 23rd, 2026, in Japan. The official X handle also shares a link to reveal all the updates fans need for this upcoming event.
The fourth season premiered in April this year as part of the Spring 2026 lineup. Following the broadcast of Episode 11, the anime went on a hiatus for a few weeks and returned with new episodes in August. The new episodes feature the Recapture Arc from the light novel, one of the best parts of the story.

The first cour of the ongoing season adapted the Loss Arc, where Subaru lost his memories and dealt with intense paranoia and isolation. After going through such a difficult ordeal, he is more than ready to fight again in the Recapture Arc. There’s no doubt that Season 4 is by far the most intense the story has ever been.
The anime has never shied away from high stakes, tragedy, and overwhelmingly dangerous incidents, but the situation is far graver this time around. Subaru was forced to witness his friends die in gruesome ways, forcing him to realize his own weakness and inability to stop those tragedies from happening. The Recapture Arc focuses on the aftermath of the Loss Arc, where Subaru and the others are in a major battle against the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony.
