Following the recent releases like One Piece and Yu Yu Hakusho, Netflix's newest live-action adaptation of a beloved animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, shows viewers right from the beginning that this will not be the family-friendly show that millennials remember from their youth. The new series is a heartfelt take on a classic show, but it is not a one-to-one adaptation, nor should it be.
