Corporate Retreat takes team-building to truly twisted heights in a savage horror-comedy that’s sure to repulse 90% of audiences who dare to watch. It is a grim exercise in gruesome violence that knows exactly what it’s doing with every twist of the knife, or in this case, a dull spoon. The vapid dialogue, purposely cardboard characters, and Alan Ruck hamming it up like a diabolical Bond villain should have been a recipe for complete disaster. Most audiences will admittedly be disgusted here, but that’s the point. This reviewer couldn’t take his eyes off the screen and got the grisly message the filmmakers were sending.
