Now that the exciting Summer 2026 anime season is almost here, most of the Spring series are reaching their conclusions. Wistora: Wand and Sword Season 2 is one of the biggest hits of the year and a major action fantasy on Crunchyroll. Written by the renowned author, Fujino Omori, and illustrated by Aoi Toshi, the manga debuted its anime adaptation in the Summer of 2024. After less than two years, the anime returned with a second season with more intense battles and higher stakes than ever. Of course, as the largest streaming platform for anime fans across the globe, Crunchyroll has long since secured the rights to stream new episodes weekly whenever they air.
Both anime seasons are streaming in regions across North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, India, and Southeast Asia. Additionally, the English dub of Season 2 is two weeks behind, and the new episodes drop at the same time as the subbed. The second season of the anime released its final episode on June 28th, 2026, featuring a major plot twist.
The final episode of Season 2 concludes the battle between Elfaria and Zeo over which one of them would get to have Will in their faction. Since they’re both fairly equal in strength, the fight would’ve continued on without a clear victor. Not to mention that the collateral damage due to a fight between two of the most powerful mages in the Kingdom would’ve been devastating. It was pretty much obvious since the beginning that Will was supposed to join Elfaria’s faction, considering their relationship and the fact that they both waited six years to reunite.
However, Zeo’s sudden interest in Will changes everything. Seeing the situation spiral out of control, Aaron Masterias Oldking, the King of the Magia Vander, ordered them to resolve the conflict through a game of rock, paper, and scissors. Although they both tied in that too, Zeo ultimately tasted victory, separating Will and Elfaria once again. Since Will is going to be in another faction, it would be impossible for him to meet Elfaria again unless they do it in secret.
However, he has no qualms about working under Zeo’s faction since that will help him become stronger. The episode also features their secret meeting, which included several anime original additions to make the moment more emotional and impactful. However, just when everything seemed normal, the episode ends with a major revelation about someone from the Tower working with the villains.
While the first season was setting up the premise with a prologue, the story finally took shape in the latest season. The Terminalia was ruined completely due to the villains’ attack, causing widespread panic and destruction. If not for Will, the Capital would’ve fallen. His feats didn’t go unrewarded by the Academy since he was finally allowed to ascend to the Tower as a High Mage.
However, the entire kingdom is forced to deal with the devastating aftermath of the attack. Investigations were ongoing to catch the culprit while more High Mages were chosen into factions compared to before, since the casualties of the incident were massive. As the episode ends, Clairie Serah, a senior High Mage, reveals to Will and his peers that someone from the Tower is a traitor.
Instead of an orientation on how to live in the Tower, the young High Mages are tasked with a mission to spy on their respective factions and report any suspicious behavior. The third season is expected to delve deeper into the mystery as the world gets closer to the fated day. Season 3 is already under production, and we can expect more updates in a few months.
