The graphic novel is the latest Comixology Originals title to get a print release from Dark Horse.
Virtually Yours, the Comixology Originals romantic comedy graphic novel released digitally in 2020, is coming to print. Dark Horse Comics will release a physical edition of the graphic novel from the creative team of writer Jeremy Holt, artist Elizabeth Beals, and letterer Adam Wollet, in September 2022.
Here’s how Dark Horse describes Virtually Yours:
Career-minded Eva Estrella is tired of her family asking when she’s going to settle down. Why won’t they stop nagging her? New York City is a big place! Sure it’s easy to meet people, but you try finding “the one” in a city of 8 million! Besides, Eva doesn’t want a distraction from her goal of finding a dream job in journalism. So Eva joins Virtually Yours, a virtual dating app that provides all the proof of being in a relationship — without actually being in one.
And then there’s Max Kittridge. He might be a former child star, but right now he’s in the middle of a divorce and going through the motions. Max takes a gig at Virtually Yours creating, what becomes, a highly sought-after profile, making him a top performer at the company. As they navigate their current circumstances, both Eva and Max find that sometimes what you’re looking for is right in front of you.
Virtually Yours will be the first Dark Horse Comics release from writer Jeremy Holt, and the latest from artist Elizabeth Beals, who has previously contributed variant covers to Killer Queens and Stranger Things: Kamchatka. Beals’s work has also appeared in Dark Horse’s print edition of another Comixology Originals book, The Pride Omnibus.
Holt & Beals both expressed their excitement on Virtually Yours coming to print from Dark Horse to The Beat:
“I am absolutely thrilled to have Virtually Yours in print for the first time ever. Elizabeth and I are extremely excited to have our fresh take on the rom-com genre accessible to a much wider readership, courtesy of legendary publisher Dark Horse Comics.” – Jeremy Holt
“Virtually Yours making its print debut is an absolute dream come true! The entire team poured a lot of love into the making of this book so I’m thrilled that we now have the opportunity to share our story with even more people.” – Elizabeth Beals
Holt & Beals’s Virtually Yours is the latest Comixology Originals title to receive a print release from Dark Horse as part of the two publisher’s ongoing agreement. Along with the aforementioned The Pride Omnibus, Dark Horse has forthcoming print editions for the second volume of Jeff Lemire & Jock‘s Snow Angels, as well as Frank J. Barbiere, Arris Quinones, and Ruairi Coleman‘s Astonishing Times, and single-issue releases of Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, and Jonathan Glapion‘s We Have Demons.
