Warning: The following contains spoilers for House of the Dragon Season 3, Episode 6, and Fire & BloodIf House of the DragonSeason 2 was Team Black-heavy, then Season 3 most certainly favors Team Green (or its offshoot, Team Daeron). In Season 3, Episode 6, as Ormund Hightower continues his upward trajectory to absolute power in the name of his cousin, Daeron, Rhaenyra Targaryen’s grip on her constituents slowly loosens. One iconic moment from George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood shows the Iron Throne cutting Rhaenyra as she sits on it while impatiently listening to the petitions of her smallfolk. It portends her fall from grace, to be sure, but this should come as no surprise – the Dance of the Dragons is a tragic tale of one noble house’s downfall. Episode 6 cleverly plants the seeds of destruction that’ll blossom in the narrative to come.
