A major Isekai anime franchise has finally confirmed its release date for Season 2 after four long years of waiting, and HIDIVE has dropped a new trailer showing it off ahead of its big premiere. It’s been a very strong year for Isekai anime as not only have fans gotten to see a number of new releases, but there have also been many returning franchises that have come back for new episodes as well. There are still more Isekai sequels slated to release through the rest of the year, and one is releasing earlier than the others.
The anime adaptation for Yuu Tanaka and LLO’s Reincarnated as a Sword originally made its debut back in 2022, and it’s finally coming back with a second season of episodes this Fall after four long years. Hosting an early premiere for fans in attendance at a special panel during the Anime NYC 2026 event this weekend, Reincarnated as a Sword Season 2 confirmed it’s going to be making its full premiere this October. Reincarnated as a Sword Season 2 will be making its debut on September 30th in Japan followed by an October 7th full launch, and it will be exclusively streaming its episodes with HIDIVE as part of their stacked Fall 2026 anime schedule for fans in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and more. This new trailer for the season also confirmed the new opening theme titled “Dream of Butterfly” as performed by FZMZ, and a new ending theme titled “Baribari Buddy” as performed by Hanabie.
Reincarnated as a Sword Season 2 is going to feature a returning staff and voice cast from the first season as well with Shinji Ishihira directing for C2C. Takahiro Nagano will be providing the scripts, Atsuko Saito will be providing the character designs, and Yasuharu Takanashi will be composing the music. The core voice cast is set to return with Ai Kakuma as Fran, Shinichiro Miki as Master, Yuma Uchida as Jean du Vix confirmed thus far. Vix appeared at the end of the first season, so we’re about to see more from the mysterious sorcerer.
HIDIVE has some big Isekai franchises that fans have gotten to see through the year thus far, and even more are in the works for the near future. You might not be up to date with all of their projects as of this time, but they definitely have some of the more unique Isekai experiences. That’s the case for Reincarnated as a Sword as the series not only saw their main character reincarnated into an inanimate sword, but placed him into the hands of a young slave fighting oppression.
Even with all of the other new Isekai releases coming this Fall, you’ll want to keep this one on your radar. It’s been such a long time since that first season, and it’s certainly a cool one as it’s yet another all powerful Isekai protagonist where its lead character is actually just a weapon another person is wielding.
