Back in October, just before Halloween, NECA announced the first figure in a crossover line of 7-inch scale Ultimates action figures featuring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as classic Universal monsters. An amazing Raphael as Frankenstein‘s Monster kicked off the line, and that was followed by Leonardo as Dr. Frankenstein’s assistant The Hunchback. Today, Michelangelo is getting the treatment as The Mummy. Once again, the figure is outstanding.
The Michelangelo as The Mummy figure includes two ankh nunchuks, interchangeable heads and hands, a bendable cobra, and extra bandage drapes. You can pre-order it here at Entertainment Earth for $34.99 with a release date set for October 2022. While you’re at it you might want to grab the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Last Ronin 4 1/2-Inch figure that dropped as a Previews Exclusive last week. It’s also available to pre-order here at Entertainment Earth for $29.99 while it lasts.
The previously released Leonardo as The Hunchback / Ygor figure features a ton of accessories like a brain in a jar, two katanas, interchangeable hands, shovels, bone, skull, and flame effects that attach to the katanas to form torches. As you will see in the image below, many of these accessories can be stored inside his shell. You can pre-order the new Leonardo figure here at Entertainment Earth for $34.99 with a release date set for June.
As for the Frankenstein Raphael figure, it includes a metal chain, interchangeable hands, and two lightning bolt sai. It’s also loaded with details that like a worn suit, broken gauges, and a manhole cover used to patch his damaged shell (a nice touch). Pre-orders are live here at Entertainment Earth now for $34.99 with a release date set for April. This date was pushed back from February, so you’ll want to get your order in sooner rather than later.
If this TMNT x Universal Monsters mashup seems odd to you, consider that Playmates Toys recently released action figure 2-packs that include 6-inch figures of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles facing off against stars of Netflix’s Cobra Kai series. The wave includes Raphael vs. John Kreese, Leonardo vs. Miguel Diaz, Michelangelo vs. Daniel LaRusso, and Donatello vs. Johnny Lawrence. The 2-packs are live now via the links below.
The TMNT figures in the 2-packs feature 34 points of articulation, a weapon accessory, and a fabric tournament Gi with a team Turtles insignia on the front and back. The Cobra Kai figures feature 16-points of articulation with Cobra Kai and My-Yagi-Do Gi.
