Over Your Dead Body takes marital strife to disturbing heights in a grisly black comedy with a sharp ensemble. Why bother with counseling or divorce when you can just murder your significant other, stage an accident, and pocket the life insurance money? Jason Segel and Samara Weaving learn the hard way that “till death do us part” isn’t so easily accomplished when their carefully laid plans get brutally interrupted by interlopers with a sadistic agenda and a taste for sport. The film scores shock value points, but its twisty narrative and eventual outcome isn’t entirely unpredictable.
