Street Fighter 6 has proven to be a true return to form for the series, and Capcom is only building up more hype with its latest character reveal. Sagat kicked off Year 3 of the popular fighting game, bringing back one of the most iconic characters in the genre. Fans were thrilled at his return, but the next character this season has them practically in a frenzy. Though she has already been revealed and teased, a new trailer not only gives players a release date, but the first look at how she plays in Street Fighter 6.
Crimson Viper, or C. Viper, as she is better known, will be joining the roster as a part of Year 3 very soon. Players haven’t seen her since Street Fighter IV, and she is making her debut in Street Fighter 6 on October 15th. This undercover CIA agent looks faithful to her original moveset, with some modern updates. Not only that, but she has a stylish new look that has been a big hit with fans since her announcement in Street Fighter 6. Despite her inclusion in the game, it seems unlikely she’ll appear in the Street Fighter movie.
The gameplay trailer (below) showcased her moveset, which remains true to how she played in Street Fighter IV. C. Viper utilizes various gadgets along with a battle suit to give her an edge over her foes. This results in a flashy combat style where she can empower her attacks with fire and lightning, or strike foes from a distance with shockwaves sent through the ground. These pair up nicely with her martial arts skills, allowing for devastating combos.
Her new look sees her don a white skirt and blouse and sporting a more free hairstyle, but veterans will appreciate her alternate outfit that is her original look from Street Fighter IV. So far these are the only outfits for her, but fans can likely expect more to come, with a very real chance of one being a swimsuit, a popular addition to the game.
C. Viper looks to be a fantastic addition to Street Fighter 6 and has reached popularity rivaling other leading ladies like Chun Li, Juri, and Cammy. Fans are certainly excited, with commenters saying this is “incredible” and “faithful” to her Street Fighter 4 version. Some are heavily praising her “glow up” as well. Now, Sagat saw a lot of play on his release, and players can likely expect the same when C. Viper becomes playable. Those jumping into online play better be ready for seismo cancels, high jumps, and burning kick shenanigans, because C. Viper is bringing the heat on October 15th.
