Taylor Sheridan has become a bit of a lightning rod in Hollywood. Following three engaging feature film scripts (Sicario, Wind River, Hell and High Water), he created Yellowstoneand its numerous spin-offs 1888 and 1923. Other original series not linked to the Dutton Ranch followed. These shows regularly feature wide-open landscapes, no shortage of rugged individualism, family drama, and a constant romanticization of Manifest Destiny philosophy. Sheridan’s fans are as dedicated as his detractors. Nobody can discount Sheridan’s success, but we may often wonder when he’ll run out of steam.
