It’s rather amazing that zombie stories have become such a cinematic touchstone; a genre that audiences truly don’t seem to get tired of watching. There’s just something about the basic formula that is continually engaging, and that allows for such different perspectives and tones that you can have a run like the one we’re in the midst of now, where the zombie or very zombie-adjacent 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Cold Storage and now This Is Not a Test, can open within just a few weeks of one another, yet all feel quite different.
